Who we are
Spearheaded by two Indonesians who are passionate about Indonesian Food, Palapa Indonesian Fast Food opened its very first shop at City Gate (Beach Road) Singapore in June 2024 to serve Authentic Indonesian Food. We pride ourselves with our uniqueness, quality and service.

What does “PALAPA” mean?
The name “Palapa” is inspired by the “Palapa Oath,” a vow taken by Gajah Mada, the Prime Minister of the Majapahit Empire.
Approximately 700 years ago, Gajah Mada pledged that he would abstain from “Palapa” (a certain type of spice, or possibly a symbol for worldly pleasures) until he had unified Maritime Southeast Asia under Majapahit rule.
Under Gajah Mada’s military leadership, the Majapahit Empire became one of the largest empires in Southeast Asia.

in 1976, Indonesia launched its first satellite, named “Palapa,” in homage to Gajah Mada’s oath.
This achievement made Indonesia the first Southeast Asian country to launch a satellite and the third country globally to operate a
communications satellite, following the United States and Canada.
The “Palapa Ring Project,” completed in late 2019, was another landmark national initiative. It extended 4G internet connectivity across the vast Indonesian archipelago by installing 35,000 km of undersea fiber-optic cables and 21,000 km of land cables.
Today, “Palapa” stands as a symbol of unity and connection. At Palapa
Indonesian Fast Food, we strive to uphold this legacy by bringing people
together and connecting hearts through authentic Indonesian cuisine.
